Bacon on a Stick
Contributed by PinkSpectacles
Ingredients:
(For 10 pieces)
10 slices of streaky (fatty) bacon
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
One cup boiled water
A dash of oil
10 skewers
Directions:
Heat up the oil in a pan. When hot, place the slices of bacon onto the pan (it should be hot enough that it sizzles!) Cook for a about a minute and then flip each slice over. Add the soy sauce and let it cook. While it’s cooking, add the sugar to the hot water and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Pour the sugar water over the bacon and cook until the water has gone and the bacon is crispy and sticky. Remove from the pan and allow the bacon to cool until it’s not too hot to hold. Take a skewer and pierce the end of the bacon, folding it over in a zig zag fashion until the bacon is on the end of the stick. Serve on a plate. The bacon can be eaten right off the stick as it’s crispy enough to bite off, and has an awesome sweet n sour taste.
Geek note:
Bacon is the ultimate geek food! Bacon on a stick means you can enjoy your bacon allowance at a LAN or gaming day and not get your fingers greasy! Meaning clean equipment and pure bacon goodness for all.
